The Associate Director - Commercial Sales Training (ADCST) is responsible for the design and development of training materials to support product and skill enhancement programs.  This includes, but is not limited to, aspects of launch training initiatives, New Hire Training, Sales Meetings, Compliance Training, Promotional Material Roll-Outs, training-related field communications, and Position Specific Training. 

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Training & Tactical Execution:

  • Responsible for assessing commercial needs to drive training initiatives and assist in searching, designing, and implementing effective methods to educate and support sales performance.
  • Responsible for the new hire training curriculum for internal Commercial and external field associates working with the Senior Manager of Field Training in all aspects relating to new hires.
  • Accountable for the planning and set up of virtual instructor led trainings for internal and external associates.
  • Oversees all system administration and tracking activities of the Learning Management System (LMS) including generating the data and reports required to monitor training compliance.

Creation & Development:

  • Supports, develops and executes all NSM, POA, and other sales training initiatives along with Commercial Sales Training leadership.
  • Creates all product-related training materials needed for the sales force and cross-functional partners to execute successfully. This includes product and disease state modules, process support training, and the development of business and selling skills. 
  • Serves as the liaison between Sales and Training, interfacing with the brand team ensuring brand messages and supporting materials that communicate the value of Acordas products to customers are transferred into successful training and selling application.
  • Develops training workshops and related activities associated with promoting and maintaining brand strategies and tactics.
  • Works with the Head of Commercial Sales Training on launch initiatives, sales training projects, needs analysis, strategy, logistics and overall planning.

Identifying Issues & Opportunities:

  • Identifies issues, problems and opportunities in collaboration with internal and external support teams, and determines a course of action.
  • Collaborates to collect and compare information and develop an effective training communication, approach or resource.  

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of seven years successful experience in specialty pharmaceutical / biotech sales, including a minimum of four years of specialty sales and a minimum of three years of product marketing and/or internal sales training experience required.
  • Prior experience in instructional design/self-development of training workshops required.
  • Prior experience in the development of Curricula required.
  • Prior experience with virtual instructor led training.
  • New product launch experience required.
  • Demonstrated history of successful development and implementation of robust training systems and processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None  

Qualifications:

  • Strong in-depth knowledge of Specialty Biotech / Pharma
  • Proven ability to apply creativity in a highly collaborative environment dependent upon effective teamwork to achieve goals and company objectives
  • Strong proficiency with Learning Management Systems preferred. 

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite

Certificates, Licensed, Registrations:

  • Life Science training-related certifications preferred.

  • This position requires travel; the average travel for this position is 10-15% with some variation based on the demands of business imperatives. Travel is for Zone and National POA meetings.
